Cars And Stuff.
A Stucco Bungalow in Oakland, California cost about $3,750. That's a lot cheaper then today right? I mean, come on that's a pretty good deal on a car. And that was in urban areas! White gold filled eyeglass frames costed only $7.50. Asdfghjkl;!!! That is really cheap!!!! Except, that was in a rural area. In an urban area, glasses would probably cost around $10. Still, that's really cheap. But of course, during the Great Depression, everything seemed expensive.
Stores and Struggle.
In the 1930s, neighbors would help each other out by selling their own stuff and trade so they could make money! That's pretty cool. People would shop with what little money they had to buy things of their own. For entertainment, people would attend movie theaters to watch the latest blockbusters. For example, in Johnstown, Pa, people would go to the Nemo theater. Even though many people had no money to do recreational things. There was no money or time to waste. After all, the motto was, "make do."
